Behavioral Health Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Program Services
About the Programs
The partial hospitalization program (PHP) and intensive outpatient program (IOP) at Mat-Su are designed to achieve and sustain stabilization and resolve mental health issues in adults. These programs are intensive, short-term and highly structured treatment to help patients maximize gains and prevent relapse or hospital admission/readmission.
Why Partial Hospitalization or Intensive Outpatient Therapy? Patients receive individualized, goal-oriented psychotherapeutic and psychoeducational treatment to support their recovery efforts from mental illness. The PHP program uses a disease and recovery model for psychiatric disorders. Patients utilize the program to transition back into the community after inpatient treatment and/or instead of hospitalization. Our intensive outpatient therapy program focuses on treatment for the following conditions:
- Thought disorders (psychosis)
- Mood disorders (depression and/or anxiety)
- Post-traumatic stress disorder
- Other co-occurring disorders
Who We Serve
We offer treatment for adults ages 18 and older who are experiencing a qualifying mental health condition. Criteria for admission to an IOP and PHP include:
- The presence of moderate symptoms of a psychiatric diagnosis
- An impairment in one or more spheres of personal functioning
- The clear potential to regress without specific IOP/PHP services
- The need for direct monitoring as prescribed by your care team
- A variability in daily capacity to cope with life situations.
